Invisalign® is a clear way to discreetly straighten teeth and correct a bite at any age. Invisalign uses state of the art dental technology to comfortably and gradually realign crooked teeth. Dr. Kenneth Banks is certified Invisalign provider in Inwood, WV.
Benefits of Straightening Teeth
Crooked teeth are more than embarrassing cosmetic dental concern. Crooked teeth are difficult to properly clean and may be more susceptible to tooth decay. Crooked teeth can also lead to an increased risk of TMJ pain, tooth wear, breakage or chipping, and gum disease. Straightening teeth, even in adulthood, can help patients regain confidence, improve their quality of life, and restore their oral health.
Invisalign is a unique way that patients can straighten their teeth without the stigma or damage of traditional metal braces. Many patients put off straightening their teeth out of fear of being judged socially or professionally for having metal braces later in life. Invisalign is a metal braces alternative that is both discreet and reduces the risk of decay, gum damage or staining of the teeth.
Invisalign offers many benefits:
Beautiful straight smile
Improved oral health
Reduced risk of decay
Reduced risk of damaging soft oral tissue
Discreet, most people do not realize you are wearing them
Improved confidence and quality of life
Removable for oral hygiene
I had a routine cleaning, consultation for further treatment, and updated X-rays. The staff is always cheerful, and accommodating when scheduling, and will call if there is a cancellation to fit you in early. As an added bonus, you can choose either a warm relaxing neck wrap, or a warm…Lauren H.

Invisalign® What to Expect
Dr. Banks will custom design a series of Invisalign clear plastic aligners that will gradually shift teeth into proper alignment. Using digital imaging technology, Dr. Banks will take photos of the teeth and gums to create a 3-D digital image of the patient’s bite.
This information will be used to create a series of aligners. Each set is designed to shift teeth closer into alignment. Made of a soft hard plastic, Invisalign aligners are less irritating to the gums and teeth and can be removed if necessary.
Typically, each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks. Every patient will receive specific instructions on length of wear from Dr. Banks based on their personal oral health and goals. Most patients will wear Invisalign clear aligners for about a year. All treatments are subject to variance based on personal oral health.
Crooked teeth can be more than a cosmetic problem. When teeth are crooked it is often difficult to thoroughly clean them with brushing and flossing. Misaligned teeth can also contribute to an uneven bite, leading to TMJ disorders and tooth damage.
Many patients are pleasantly surprised to learn that Invisalign is often no more expensive, and sometimes less, than traditional metal braces. The cost of your treatment depends on the severity of your dental concerns and the number of aligners needed for correction. Dr. Banks will go over all aspects of your treatment , including total cost, and offers financing to make payment more predictable and manageable.
Invisalign uses clear aligners that fit over the teeth like a mouthguard. They are made of a smooth material that typically does not irritate the soft tissues and gums.
Some patients may experience minor discomfort the first day of a new set of aligners which is addressed with over the counter pain relievers. Otherwise, most report that they often forget they are wearing braces.
