Dental ImplantsAn Overview
Dental implants are the most natural way to replace missing teeth. Dental implants function as a prosthetic root structure, helping to stabilize the jaw and preventing further deterioration of a patient’s oral health. Dental implants are small biocompatible titanium posts that are surgically implanted into the healthy bone structure. As the implant heals, it will naturally fuse with the bone, stabilizing the jaw and stimulating healthy bone growth.
Dental implants provide many oral health and systemic health benefits. Your new implant is as close to a natural tooth as possible, stabilizing your dental health and minimizing the risks of tooth movement, changes in the jaw and gum disease that can begin to develop when teeth are lost.
Patients who choose dental implants to replace lost teeth are able to restore their natural function and appearance of their smile. Many patients experience a boost in their self confidence and an improved quality of life as a result of their new smile.
